For now, the final weekly reset of Season 1 has taken place, introducing a new and familiar Nightfall Strike, Flashpoint, and Eververse lineup. Additionally, the items available in Bright Engrams will rotate for Season 2, so you’ll want to unlock as many of those as you can now if there’s something you’ve been wanting. The Spicy Ramen Exotic emote, specifically, will no longer be available after Season 1. It features the same Modifiers we saw during a previous instance of this.

Speaking to Edge magazine via Eurogamer , Bungie has confirmed that players’ loadouts will be locked when entering specific endgame missions, and the weekly Nightfall missions will be timed, too. This means that gamers are going to have to prepare more ahead of time and complete certain tasks quicker than they’d have to in the original game – meaning there will be less opportunity to ‘cheese’ enemies with exploits.
Bungie states these changes are intentionally added to make players adopt a more strategic approach to the game, significantly reducing how often they’ll how to replay the same content a big criticism fans had of the first game. By adding timers or preventing players from altering their loadout mid-way into a level, Bungie intends to make players tackle the game’s harder challenges in a fairer way and play the game as it was intended to be played.

Once a week, Bungie selects one of Destiny 2’s Strikes and releases a timed Nightfall version of the group challenge. It’s a tougher fight all round, but the rewards are much sweeter, and so you’re very much encouraged to make these encounters part of your play each week. Not only does the Nightfall Strike in question rotate each week, there are also a handful of modifiers applied to up the challenge even further. These might affect the damage you do, for example, or allow you to regain a little time for the clock as you clear through enemies.
